Event Description On Thursday, April 12, everyone will meet at the KNWA TV station (15 S. Block St, Fayetteville) at 10:00 a.m. to get a "close up and personal" view of the TV station and explore what goes on behind the camera with Tom Yazwinski. From noon - 1:30 p.m., participants will have lunch on their own at Fresco's. From 1:30-3:30 p.m. you will hear about what goes on behind the speakers at KUAF (9 S. School St., Fayetteville) from Rick Stockdell.
On April 19, meet at the Global Campus in Fayetteville at 11:30 a.m. and learn how news stories are developed for the paper; the difference in how news and opinion are treated; the difference between standards-based reporting and blogging; decision-making about what gets in the paper and what doesn't and international bias in the media.
The cost of the class is $19.00 which includes lunch on April 19. Participants will meet at the KNWA station at 10:00 a.m. on April 12. On April 19, participants will meet at the Fayetteville Global Campus at 11:30 a.m. For more information, call 479-575-4545 or e-mail at olli@uark.edu. |
