Event Description
This two-day professional conference at the Courtyard Marriott will bring national speakers to Fayetteville to help women working in recreation, sports and tourism in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and Texas to be successful. Tricia Downing, a paraplegic athlete who directs Camp Discovery in Denver for women with spinal injuries, will give a keynote address called "Discovering Your Inner Champion."

Admission Information:
Register at the Arkansas Recreation and Parks Association website.
Cost is $85 for professionals and $65 for students. Onsite registration is also available at a higher cost.

Other speakers: Carolyn McKnight-Bray, parks and recreation ‎director for Baton Rouge, La., Sara Hensley, parks and recreation director for ‎Austin, Texas, ‎Dianne Hoover, parks and recreation director for Bakersfield, Calif., and Patti Beth Anderson, a motivational speaker and tour director from Oklahoma ‎City, Okla.
Remarks:
Hoover, who is past president of the National Recreation and Parks Association, will also be ‎part of a panel discussion about successful women. Other panelists are Connie Edmonston, ‎director of parks and recreation for Fayetteville; Jodie Adams of Springfield, Mo., past president ‎of the National Recreation and Parks Association; and Chris Pohl, associate athletic director at ‎the University of Arkansas.‎
