Event Description:
Behavioral approach is based on the concept of explaining behavior through observation and that our environment is the cause for our different behavior. Dr. John Marr, a Clinical Psychologist specialist, describes the overall rationale of the Behavioral Approach, demonstrating the use of Cognitive Dissonance in changing cognitions and attitudes. First Session describes the overall rationale of the Behavioral Approach. It then demonstrates the use of Cognitive Dissonance to changing cognitions and attitudes. Behavioral treatments for anxiety and fears, depression, and couple problem solving are then described. The Second Session illustrates the Behavioral Approach applications to child and adolescent behavior problems including positive reinforcement, positive practice, negative practice, and bullying.
