Event Description:
September 9-17 is national "Drive Electric week". Across the country, events will be held to showcase the benefits of electric vehicles ("EV's") for our environment and health, and to emphasize the need for additional EV charging stations. Each event, including the event in Fayetteville, is led by local plug-in drivers and advocates. The Fayetteville event will also feature several local EVs for citizens to examine and get information about.

The 12:15 p.m. press conference will feature Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan, local EV owner and enthusiast Terry Tremwel, and a representative of Ozarks Electric Cooperative, each of whom will share information about what has been done--and what needs to be done--to ensure that electric vehicles become a larger part of Fayetteville's future.

Sierra Club, Plug In America, and the Electric Auto Association serve as the national team providing support to the events throughout the country.

The event will take place on 609 West Dickson Street (parking spaces across from Waffle House).
