Event Description Ramadan (Muslim holy month of fasting), and Eid Al-Fitr, (a joyous three-day celebration of the fast's end), are sacred times for millions throughout the world. For Muslims, Ramadan is a period of introspection, prayer, and faithful intention. This year, Ramadan is observed on the sunset of Thursday, the 19th of July, and end on Saturday, the 18th of August. During this time, Muslims who fast will abstain from food and water from first light, about an hour before sunrise until just after sunset. Ramadan also involves visiting the mosque and praying. For those who need a space for prayer and at the time needed find themselves far from the Mosque (located at 1420 W Center St), The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education has allocated its Lecture Hall as a place for prayer during required times through the month of Ramadan. The Center's Lecture Hall will be available for prayer at the following hours: 1:15 - 2:15; 5:00 - 6:15; 8:15- 9:15 pm. This will happen every day from July 19 to August 18th. |
