REALITY STAR AND FASHION DESIGNER WHITNEY PORT SPEAKS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University Programs will host a lecture by reality star and fashion designer Whitney Port Friday, November 9, at 7 p.m. in the Union Ballroom. There will be a meet and greet following the event at 8:30 p.m.
This event is free to current University of Arkansas Fayetteville students through the Student Activities Fee, and students must show university ID for entrance. Admission for general public is free and contingent upon seating availability. For special accommodations due to disability, please contact the Office of Student Activities, osa@uark.edu or call 479-575-5255.
Port started off on the MTV's reality-hit show, “The Hills”. In Season 1, Port began appearing as an intern at Teen Vogue Magazine, and as Lauren Conrad's co-worker and confidant. By Season 4 she was a regular and audience favorite. In December 2008 Whitney's own spin-off, “The City” launched on MTV. Port moved across the country and began working for Diane Von Furstenberg. In Season 2, Port worked at People's Revolution and on her fashion line, Whitney Eve. Her line had its first runway show during Fashion Week. Port recently signed on to be a judge on Britain and Ireland's “Next Top Model” alongside host and icon, Elle Macpherson.
