Event Description The University of Arkansas Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band are scheduled in concert performance on Monday, November 19th. The concert will begin at 7:30 PM at the Walton Arts Center in Baum-Walker Concert Hall located on Dickson Street in downtown Fayetteville. The highlight of the concert will be the appearance of our special guest oboe artists - Cheryl Denice Urycki-Wefler and Theresa Delaplain. The oboe duo will be performing the Concerto in F for two Oboes and Band, Op.9/3 by Tomaso Albinoni and Theresa Delaplain will be performing Oblivion for Solo Oboe and Band by Astor Piazzolla. Admission is $10 for the general public, $5 for senior citizens and $1 for students. This concert is presented as part of the Joy Pratt Markham Series. Monday, November 19th UA Symphonic Band conducted by Christopher Knighten Program to include: Second Suite in F for Military Band by Gustav Holst ‘Blessed Are They’ from A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms Michael Moon, graduate conductor -Intermission- UA Wind Symphony conducted by W. Dale Warren Program to include: The Wind and the Lion by Jerry Goldsmith including the UA Symphonic Band Concerto in F for two Oboes and Band, Op.9/3 by Tomaso Albinoni Cheryl Denice Urycki-Wefler and Theresa Delaplain, oboes Down A Country Lane by Aaron Copland Benjamin Chamberlain, conducting Oblivion for Solo Oboe and Band by Astor Piazzolla Theresa Delaplain, oboe ‘Symphonic Suite’ from On The Waterfront by Leonard Bernstein |
