Event Description
UA JAZZ COMBOS CONCERT
Three different jazz combos will perform small group jazz on Friday night, November 30 in the Arkansas Union on the UA campus. A “Gypsy Jazz” quartet featuring Andrew Chu on violin, Ethan Moll and Felipe Antonio on guitar, and Kate Knox on bass will play music made famous by the great Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli. They will be followed by a “Bebop” style group consisting of Zack Plumlee on guitar, Clay Johnson on bass and Mike Roe on drums. The evening will conclude with a new “Funk Ensemble” consisting of guitarists Dakoda Tanksley and Jake Pearlman, horn players Michael Hanna, Patrick Stevens and Michael Moore, bassist Kate Knox and drummer Mike Roe. They will play funk tunes by Herbie Hancock, The Meters, Pee Wee Ellis and others.
The concert begins at 7:30pm and is free and open to the public.
