Event Description:
The Office of Research and Innovation will sponsor a workshop on Growing Convergence Research, Thursday, October 24, from 11 am-2 pm in Pederson Conference Room - ADMN 428.
Growing Convergence Research—merging ideas, approaches, tools, and technologies from widely diverse fields of science and engineering to stimulate discovery and innovation—is one of the ten Big Ideas in which the National Science Foundation is investing $30 million to support opportunities for U. S. leadership in these fields.
Presenters Carri George and Stacy Stuart, research development support specialists, will discuss the definition of Convergence Research and review the recently announced funding opportunity, NSF 19-551.
Researchers who are interested in tackling a compelling problem or societal need that requires differing perspectives, tools and methodologies to address are encouraged to attend. One purpose of the workshop is to connect researchers from different disciplines.
Pre-registration is not required.
