Event Description:
The Ko-ko-ci Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will hold its meeting, Tuesday, November 14 at 7pm at the Arkansas Archeological Survey building. Guest speaker will be Jim Rees. He will present “Caddo Canteens: A Study of Certain Small Caddo Ceramic Vessels and Their Possible Use as Sound Tools.” Mr. Rees’ talk explores the possibility that small Caddo ceramic vessels known as canteens may have been sound tools rather than containers. These vessels are rare, have a limited distribution, and represent a discrete vessel form, one that appears to be unique among native cultures north of Mexico.

This event will be held at the Arkansas Archeological Survey at 2475 N. Hatch Ave., Fayetteville, off of Garland Ave., across from the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center. Refreshments served. Free and open to the public. Call 479-283-5720 for more information or directions.
