Event Description:
Hipbillies: the Back to the Land Movement in the Arkansas Ozarks will be a 45 minute lecture by Dr. Jared Phillips, faculty in International Studies at the University of Arkansas, hosted by Special Collections. This public lecture will cover the back to the land movement in Northwest Arkansas in the late 1960s and 1970s, draw attention to the current exhibition Long Hair, Soft Hands in Special Collections, and promote the upcoming book Hipbillies: Deep Revolution in the Arkansas Ozarks by Dr. Phillips, out Spring 2018 by the University of Arkansas Press. This event is free and open to the public.
