Know Your Status: Free HIV Testing

Event Description:
In coordination with World AIDS Day, Pat Walker Health Center and the Washington County Health Unit have teamed up to offer free HIV testing for the campus community.

The free testing event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Arkansas Union.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is estimated that 1.1 million people have HIV in the U.S.; and 1 in 7 of them don’t know they have the virus.

The CDC recommends everyone ages 13 to 64 should get tested for HIV at least once, and more frequently for those at a higher-risk of contracting the virus.
