Event Description:
Fulbright Scholars at the University of Arkansas (FSUA), a Registered Student Organization, invites the University of Arkansas students to celebrate the “Fulbright Holiday Forum: Diversity and Multiculturalism at the UofA” on Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at Reynolds Center Auditorium. Students can get their free tickets prior to the event, on Thursday, November 15th and Friday, November 16th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the main entrance of the University of Arkansas Union.

Following the ideas of Senator J. William Fulbright’s about peace and harmony through education and international cooperation, this year the Fulbright Holiday Forum will address today’s hot topics in international exchange and collaboration: diversity and multiculturalism.
Diversity and multiculturalism are inseparable from the University of Arkansas not only because we are the university of Senator Fulbright but also because we are fortunate to have such a large international student population. We believe that studying in such a culturally rich and diverse environment helps all students grow as more open-minded individuals that value differences and recognize how they can enhance our lives. Moreover, the city of Fayetteville as a whole would not be the vibrant and inclusive place we know it to be without the colorful and diverse tapestry of students that call it home.

In this forum, which has been funded by the Associated Student Government (ASG), we will be sharing the points of view and perspectives of leaders in our community about how diversity has impacted the campus community and how multiculturalism in Fayetteville is molding current and future generations. Also, we will be talking about how individual students, domestic and international, can get involved in furthering Senator J. William Fulbright’s idea of achieving peace and harmony through education and international cooperation.

This event is supported by the Student Activities fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently-enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee.
