Event Description: The Ko-ko-ci Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will hold its meeting Tuesday, February 13 at 7pm at the Arkansas Archeological Survey building. Guest speaker will be Dr. Jamie Brandon. He will present "Looking for Leetown: Recent Archology at Pea Ridge National Military Park & the Upcoming 2018 Society Summer Training Program." Often referred to as "the Gettysburg of the west," the battle of Pea Ridge was an important moment in the Civil War. It had a dramatic and lasting impact on the 19th Century communities that once dotted the battlefield. Learn about the work there and the opportunities to participate June 2018.
This event will be held at the Arkansas Archeological Survey at 2475 N. Hatch Ave., Fayetteville, off of Garland Ave., across from the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center. Refreshments served. Free and open to the public.
