Event Description:
Every object bears a story of its own. They are not simple or unproblematic. Take for instance a bookcase. What does it tell us about the life of its former owner, Elias C. Boudinot, and the social milieu he lived in?

As playwright Mary Kathryn Nagle’s ancestor, John Ridge’s nephew, a Cherokee, a Confederate, an attorney, and active in state and national politics, he continues to provoke mixed feelings today. How do the artifacts of his life present varied and conflicting meanings?

Find out at this event, also the launch of Arkansas Stories of Place and Belonging, a public humanities project funded by a Chancellor’s Innovation and Collaboration Grant. For more information, please check out the Newswire article.
