Alzheimer's Memory Wall
Start Date: 2/25/2019 All Day
End Date: 2/27/2019
Event Description:
The Alzheimer’s Memory Wall will be located in the Student Union International Connections Lounge February 25-27, 2019, to honor those who have or have had Alzheimer’s Disease or another form of dementia and their caregivers. All students and faculty are invited to write a memory, short biography, and/or story of their loved one and post it on the wall.

Alzheimer’s Disease is the sixth leading cause of death and is characterized by neurodegeneration resulting in loss of memory, and impairments in behavioral and cognitive functioning, usually in older adults. One in three seniors die due to Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. These statistics have resulted in many families with a loved one who is suffering or has suffered with Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Memory Wall, put on by Hogs End Alz RSO, will work to preserve the memories of those affected by the disease.

This event is sponsored by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently-enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee.
