Event Description:
Registered Student Organizations can now apply to receive office space for the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year. Spaces will be filled through an application and interview process. Online applications are due by Noon Friday, April 19 and interviews will be held April 22 -26. Notifications will be sent by Dead Day.
To be considered for office space, an RSO must:
- Be currently registered for the 2018-2019 academic year
- Submit complete application by Noon on Friday, April 19, 2019
- Complete an interview during available time slots April 22–26
- Attend an office space orientation meeting to be scheduled prior to space move-in
- Complete RSO re-registration for 2019-2020 by June 30, 2019
The following criteria will be used by the Office of Student Activities to determine RSO office space allocations for the 2019-2020 academic year:
- The RSO’s need for office space within the Arkansas Union
- The RSO’s potential usage for office space and plans for improvement to the RSO that would be facilitated through the use of an office space.
- The RSO’s activity level: number of active members, individuals participating in or affected by program, services or activities provided throughout the year
- If applicable, past use of office (maintaining the 10 required office hours) and past compliance with regulations for RSOs housed in the Arkansas Union
- Cooperation with other organizations, especially those housed in the Arkansas Union
Space is allocated for one (1) academic year with move-in taking place June 1-August 26, 2019 and move out the following spring by Dead Day. Organizations must reapply each year to obtain an office. Each organization allocated office space is required to be physically present for a minimum of ten posted office hours per week during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). If an RSO is allocated office space and fails to complete annual RSO re-registration, the space assignment will be removed and the space will be re-allocated to another group.
