Event Description:
The University of Arkansas School of Art presents Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition, MaKayla Songer: 'an echo from the living room'. The exhibition will take place April 13-24, 2019 at the Walker Stone House, located at 207 W. Center St., Fayetteville.

'an echo from the living room' is interested in dreams, nightmare logic, the uncanny, memory, ritual, haunted houses, and most of all, in the idea of reality as something malleable, unfixed.

Below Songer describes the essence of her exhibition through questions and imagination.

"Press your palms down flat against the air. Do they find invisible surface, or sink as if into mud? Are you dreaming? Space shifts, changes, entraps. It is the space between spaces, and it's not empty. Is this place real or imaginary? Neither. Both. It is a place where the imaginary can be punctured, in search of something sensed but not seen or articulated."

All are invited to attend the closing reception Saturday, April 20, 2019, 5-8 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
