Event Description:

Students will vote in a runoff election for four Associated Student Government executive offices Monday, April 1, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. CT through Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. CT. Paper ballots will also be available at the Office of Student Activities, Arkansas Union Room A665, during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CT) while voting is taking place. All currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students are eligible to vote.

On Friday, March 29th the ASG Judiciary announced that the 2019 ASG General Election had resulted in no candidates for President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary reaching the majority threshold of votes needed to win their election. Per the ASG Code, this means a runoff election is required to determine a winning candidate.

This ASG General Election Runoff will ask students to vote for their student government President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Per the ASG election rules, candidates for President and Vice President run together as a single voting option, while candidates for Treasurer and Secretary run separately, even if they are on the same ticket. This means that voters will have three decisions to make when voting for ASG Executives on the runoff ballot:

  1. ASG President and Vice President – On one ticket, student leaders Jared Pinkerton and Sadie Bryant are running for President and Vice President together. The other ticket running for President and Vice President features Maria Calderon and Shay Longmate running together.
  2. ASG Treasurer – Student Leaders Kevin Smith, Jr. and Kirsten James are running for ASG Treasurer.
  3. ASG Secretary - Student leaders John Hedgecock and Jack Skidmore are running for ASG Secretary.
