Event Description:
The Ko-ko-ci Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will hold its meeting, Tuesday, September 12 at 7pm at the Arkansas Archeological Survey building. Guest speaker will be Dr. Mary Beth Trubitt. She will present “WPA Excavations at the Adair Mound Center.” The Adair Mound Center, in the Ouachita Mountains, was one of the WPA work projects in the 1930s in which local men and women conducted archeological excavations. This presentation revisits the 1939 excavations and shows the importance of the site to the archeology of the Ouachita Mountains region and brings insights from new analyses of ceramic artifacts.

This event will be held at the Arkansas Archeological Survey at 2475 N. Hatch Ave., Fayetteville, off of Garland Ave., across from the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center. Refreshments served. Free and open to the public.
