Homecoming Court Applications Due by Noon

Event Description:

Registered Student Organizations are invited to nominate students for the 2018 Homecoming Court starting Monday, August 27 at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, Sept. 14 at noon. Homecoming Court consists of seven Razorback men and seven Razorback women. From this court, students will vote on a Homecoming Queen and Homecoming King. All candidates must be nominated by a RSO.

How To Nominate a Candidate

RSO’s can nominate candidates beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 27 on HogSync. Nominations and applications are due by noon Friday, Sept. 14. No late or incomplete applications will be accepted. Each RSO can nominate up to three candidates for the Queen’s Court and three candidates for the King’s Court. However, each candidate can only carry one RSO’s nomination into the process. A candidate cannot apply multiple times under different RSO nominations. Each nominee must meet co-curricular eligibility requirements.

RSOs must complete the new registration or re-registration process for 2018-2019 prior to the closing of Homecoming Court Applications.

Candidate Review and Interview Process

The 2018 Homecoming Queen’s and King’s Court applications will be reviewed and the top 20 male and female applicants will be notified and asked to sign up for a slot in the interview process. Interviews will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 29, in Arkansas Union A640. The top 12 Queen and King candidates will be honored by Chancellor Steinmetz on October 1 at the Top 20 Reception at the Fowler House. The top 12 will participate in a second round of interviews on October 7 at the Hembree Alumni House. A mandatory Homecoming Court Orientation will also be conducted on Wednesday October 11, from 6-7 PM.

Homecoming Court Announcement and Election

The 2018 Homecoming Court announced on Wednesday, October 10th between 8:00 p.m. and midnight CDT at the 7th Annual Chancellor’s Ball held at the Fayetteville Town Center. Elections for King and Queen will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m. through Thursday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. CDT at https://asg.uark.edu/elections. The Court will appear in a parade on Friday, October 19 and the Homecoming Queen and King will be announced at the Homecoming Pep Rally following the parade. The Homecoming Court will be honored at the Homecoming Football Game on Saturday, October 20.
