Summary:

While oral antibiotics are widely used to combat foodborne illnesses like Salmonella and E. coli, their misuse can lead to drug-resistant bacteria. In Rodrigues’ study, she explores plant based polymeric nano-drug delivery systems as a potential game-changer for treating gut infections. This system offers a promising solution by releasing medicine gradually and precisely, reducing the amount of antibiotics used while reducing the risk of drug resistance.
