#AASTDOWEThe African and African-American Studies department invites you to a keynote address by Dr. Pearl Dowe on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Her lecture will cover important concepts like political imagination, poitical entreprenurship and political agency. The event will take place in ARKU 503/504 in the Arkansas Union on campus and will begin at 6:00PM CT.
Dr. Dowe will remain available for a book signing immediately following her address.
Dr. Pearl Dowe is an acclaimed professor and leader in political science, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at Emory University and former Director of AAST at the University of Arkansas. She is the author of, The Radical Imagination of Black Women: Ambition, Politics and Power and her award-winning 2020 article, "Resisting Marginalization Black Women's Ambition and Agency".
