Personalized digital healthcare: Wearable Bio-electronics for Health Monitoring, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics
Summary:
Emerging classes of soft, skin-integrated sensors hold significant promise for precise, continuous monitoring of physiological parameters in both hospital and home settings, with broad implications for the future of human healthcare. The rapid growth of personalized bioelectronics has established a strong foundation for multidisciplinary innovation at the interface of physical and life sciences, driving solutions to grand challenges in medicine and human health. In this talk, I will explore the intersection of ergonomic wireless system design and real-world applications as the next generation of tools for ambulatory biometric monitoring. Key examples in point-of-care diagnostics and therapeutics for personalized medicine will be highlighted, including technologies for tracking patient recovery, identifying atypical motor development in infants, real-time fetal and maternal monitoring during labor, assessing vocal fatigue in singers, advancing pacemakers for cardiovascular disease, and improving epilepsy monitoring.
