Summary:
University of Arkansas Assistant Professor Kevin Murach discusses his NIH-funded research related to adult skeletal muscle mass rejuvenation in the context of exercise and aging and its impact on metabolic health. Of his research, Murach has said, "The loss of muscle size and strength with age is problematic, as it contributes to a loss of independence, reduced quality of life and mortality. Exercise is a powerful countermeasure against the negative effects of aging and has beneficial effects in every system of the body."
