Congratulations to Regan Chrisman-Boman on her Studio MFA thesis exhibition, “Sincerely,” which will be open April 1st-12th in the 3rd floor SDCR gallery with an opening reception taking place Friday, April 5th, from 5-8pm. Hours for the exhibition are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm or by appointment.

About the Exhibition:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I live in a body and mind that experiences reality through a distorted lens created by internal and external forces around me. This comes to a head in my practice and centers around the experiences of being in a gendered body and mind as I collectively cope with the feeling of the unknown. 

These concepts are explored formally in diaristic narratives through the lens of a distorted reality which simultaneously tells me that I am an average sized woman, but that I am also too big to fit ‘appropriate’ body standards. 

My practice has become a coping mechanism to help navigate the distorted reality of social norms. This gives me a space to dissect and understand my experiences. I tell stories of isolation, mental health, the body, and the mundanity of my daily life."
