Alcohol abuse, anxiety, and substance abuse are common occurences in our society today. Dr. Lindsay Ham, professor of Psychological Science and Director of the Laboratory for Anxiety and Substance Abuse Research at the U of A, will provide an overview of alcohol and social anxiety disorders. Her research emphasizes the interplay between anxiety and sustance abuse; understanding problem substance abuse in college students and the intersection of alcohol and violence. She will share research findings that examine the process underlying these conditions and finally her research on treatment efficacy and effectiveness.
