About this Event
Ozark Natural Science Center, 1905 Madison 1305, Huntsville, AR 72740
http://olli.uark.eduJoin us at the Ozark Natural Science Center as we explore the shelters of Bear Hollow and hike along the two miles of trails to explore three very different shelters. The hike begins with a short lecture and then takes you to the oldest site - Bluff Shelter. This easy to moderate hike follows our trail to Yarborough Cabin and ends with Rookard House. This rare opportunity allows the explorer a safe and exciting look at how previous humans have dwelt in the Ozarks and how they used the natural elements around them to support life. From the spring box to split rock, this is a hike you will always remember. Cost of admission is in class fee. Meeting location will be sent to those choosing the transportation option. It is highly encouraged for commuters to follow the van to the ONSC location. Add 45 - 60 mins for travel. Participants should dress for hiking. Bring a water bottle.
