Join Emmie Brenzel, a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, to learn about this research based, holistic practice that uses immersion in the forest and natural environments, to promote health and wellness. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, participants will learn about this ancient practice and its array of health benefits, and be taken on a slow guided walk, using interactive invitations to enhance their sensory awareness and connect with nature and the more than human world. These walks provide opportunities for deep silence and listening, close observation, the option for the sharing of experiences, and a tea ceremony in closing. Benefits of Forest Bathing include increased immune functioning and improvements to mood, sleep, energy, and memory. This is an outdoor class with extra layers of clothing recommended, being aware that temperatures will feel cooler when seated or moving leisurely.

This is a one session class. Walks are limited to 10 participants per session.

Activity Level: 2
