About this Event
This course is designed to identify and educate participants on the fight for racial justice and more just and equitable communities. Join D’Andre Jones, member of the Fayetteville City Council, as he identifies and discusses key ideas and concepts concerning the need to build black political power. Class sessions will focus on barriers and advantages to building black political power, personal beliefs and opinions about race, antiracism and anti-blackness, how institutions and policies contribute to and enable racism, and the weight these beliefs and opinions carry. Participants will hear from historical and current black political activists and from nonpeople of color concerning the importance of supporting black candidates.
