Tuesday, October 26, 2021 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Add to calendar

Double double toil and trouble...witches have haunted the imagination for centuries. Ashley Robinson, storyteller and OLLI instructor of the year, will explore witches in literature from Salem to today, focusing on what the changing portrayals teach us about power and ourselves. She’ll start by conjuring up a little history, then look at witches in poetry, short stories, and novels. The course will cover works from some literary greats like Nathaniel Hawthorne and Anne Sexton--and participants will read some enchanting contemporary works, too. And of course, the group will wrap the course up with a screening of Hocus Pocus. Come and join our coven--it will be a scary good time!
