The ancient Eastern Orthodox Church is largely unknown in NW Arkansas, and this course will give an inquirer a basic understanding of the Church’s history and way of thinking. Fr. John Atchison, an Orthodox Priest for 26 years, will explain the reasons for the separation from Roman Christianity in 1054 as well as the results of living under Islam and communism. Areas covered will be history, music, worship, doctrine, tradition, and architecture. Some Eastern Mediterranean food will be provided for lunch.
