Bastien und Bastienne is a one-act comic opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, written when he was just 12 years old. The story follows Bastienne, a shepherdess who fears her lover Bastien has been unfaithful. She seeks help from the magician Colas, who advises her to play hard to get. Bastien, confused and distressed, turns to Colas for help as well. Through Colas’s trickery and guidance, the lovers are reunited and their affections reaffirmed. The production will be sung in English and set in the world of Minecraft.
