Amy Kligman has been the Executive Artistic Director at Charlotte Street Foundation since 2015. Kligman’s career and experience as an exhibiting artist and grassroots curator/arts administrator spans 20 years of studio & exhibition work, independent curating and organizing, and artist-run projects. In 2011 Kligman was one of a team of 5 artist-curators who established Plug Projects, an artist-run project space in Kansas City’s West Bottoms that hosted a robust & nationally recognized calendar of exhibitions and artist-centered programming. Amy is a painter and installation artist represented by Sherry Leedy Fine Art in Kansas City, MO, and her work is in the collection of the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Hallmark Cards, and numerous private collections across the country.
Kimi Kitada is a curator based in Kansas City. She is currently the Gallery & Programs Manager at Charlotte Street. Previously, she was curatorial assistant at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles in 2019-2020. From 2014 to 2018, she served as Public Programs & Research Coordinator at Independent Curators International in New York. Her recent exhibitions include: Potential Futures: Prototypes at Charlotte Street, Kansas City (2023); Handiwork: Art, Craft, and the Space Between at Charlotte Street, Kansas City (2022); With Liberty and Justice at Charlotte Street, Kansas City (2021); where we came from & where we are going at Transformer, Washington, DC (2019). She co-curated Postscript: Correspondent Works at artQ13, Rome (2015); 7x8 Curatorial Conversations at Budapest Art Market, Hungary (2013); and (in)complete at TEMP Art Space, New York (2013). Kitada received a BA in Art History and Classics from Bucknell University and an MA in Museum Studies from NYU.
