The World Languages & Digital Humanities Studio in the World Languages, Literatures & Cultures department is excited to announce the return of the Digital Humanities Meet-Up series, held in the WLDH Studio, J.B. Hunt 207. The spring series kicks off from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb 29.
The opening DH Meet-Up will be centered around ePortfolios, a high impact practice (HIP) in student success. The talk will feature Dr. Ryan Calabretta-Sajder, head of the Italian section and associate professor of Italian, and Dr. Raquel Castro Salas, teaching assistant professor of Spanish.
ePortfolios can be implemented in multiple ways, such as career development, course assessments, teaching, and learning. As an online body of work, ePortfolios allow students to build an archive of their work and to reflect on their academic progress, as well as to share items with professors, peers, and potential employers. Students are able to add to their ePortfolios over time as they serve as a living record of personal and academic growth.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops to follow a demonstration on how to build a student ePortfolio, presented by Studio graduate researcher Larissa Rocha.
